I stayed at the C&D Hotel Fuzhoufor three consecutive nights to attend an industry exchange conference. Originally, I only chose to stay at the location facing West Lake, but I was deeply moved by the hotel's service hidden in the details, which completely refreshed my understanding of the service level of the old high-end hotels in Fuzhou.
As soon as I took a taxi to the hotel entrance, the doorman quickly came up and helped me pick up the heavy suitcase. Even the half cup of iced Americano that I was holding in my hand, which I hadn't finished yet, reminded me to put it in the ice bucket in the lobby for temporary storage, afraid that I might spill my luggage. When checking in, the front desk immediately recognized me as a local Fujian flavor preference that had been noted in advance. They proactively informed me that a local Fuzhou jasmine tea souvenir had been prepared in advance in my room, fearing that I might not be used to the dryness of the air-conditioned room. They also brought two extra bottles of free local mountain spring water. Even when I casually mentioned that I had to catch the shuttle bus for the morning shift the next day, the front desk immediately helped me advance the wake-up service and the packaged Fuzhou specialty breakfast time by 20 minutes. After confirming twice, they handed me the room card.
When I entered the room to put things in, I found a handwritten note already placed on the desk in advance, indicating the nearest nucleic acid test points in the surrounding area, backup routes for the exchange meeting, and even the opening time of the nearby Lao Hua store that has been open for thirty years clearly written on it. Halfway through, I had to print dozens of project materials for the exchange meeting. I informed the front desk on WeChat that a staff member would come to pick them up in less than 5 minutes. After 10 minutes, the neatly bound materials were delivered to me, even the corners were rounded to prevent me from scratching them when I turned the page. I accidentally spilled a water cup on my desk and called room service. Within three minutes, my aunt came up with a cloth and absorbent tissue. After tidying up, she even replaced me with a new anti slip desk mat. Before leaving, she reminded me that if my computer got wet, I could always ask a technician from the engineering department to come over and help me check.
What surprised me the most was that on the second day of the exchange meeting, I caught a light rain and returned to the hotel. As soon as I walked to the lobby, the service staff handed me a dry towel and a cup of hot Fuzhou local ginger tea. Even I didn't realize that I was already feeling a little cold all over. In the evening, I was taking a walk on the lakeside walkway of the hotel when a passing staff member approached me and handed me a bottle of mosquito repellent, saying that there were many mosquitoes by West Lake and they were afraid that I would be bitten. When I returned to the room, I found that a bottle of chilled electrolyte water had already been placed by the bedside, and there was also a small box of free throat lozenges next to it. It was the staff who remembered me coughing twice during the day at the venue. When I checked out, the front desk not only helped me deliver my luggage directly to the car, but also specially stuffed me with a small bag of Fuzhou local fish ball souvenirs, saying that I would take them back to my family to taste. Even the power bank I forgot to take from the hotel charging cabinet was pre packed in the side pocket of my luggage bag.
After staying for three days, there was never a service that was rigidly procedural, and all the thoughtfulness was hidden in unspoken details. I will definitely not hesitate to choose C&D Hotel Fuzhou the next time I come to Rongcheng, as I have encountered such a well-established hotel by the West Lake in Fuzhou that takes guests' needs into consideration.Show more
This time, when I came to Gulou District in Fuzhou for business, I specifically chose to stay at C&D Hotel Fuzhou. After staying for three days, I was completely surrounded by this old hotel hidden by the West Lake, and the warm and leisurely atmosphere of Fujian and the convenience of travel were firmly integrated into my stay experience.
The location of the hotel is very familiar to people who come to Fuzhou for travel. It's less than 500 meters on foot from Ximen Station on Line 2, so you don't have to wander around in the narrow alleys of the old city with your luggage. The surrounding lakeside road network is particularly smooth. It takes only 20 minutes to walk directly to core business districts such as Sanfang Qixiang and Dongjiekou, completely avoiding the most congested sections of the morning and evening rush hour in the old city area of Fuzhou. Pushing open the side door of the hotel, I stepped into the lakeside trail of West Lake Park a few steps away. In the morning, I took a walk around the lake, blowing the wind of the Minjiang River and watching the men practicing Tai Chi and walking the blackbirds by the lake. In an instant, I could feel the slow paced smoke and fire of old Fuzhou. There is an old Fuzhou fish ball shop that has been open for decades along the street downstairs. You don't have to travel a long way, just take a turn downstairs and you can taste authentic fish balls with explosive Q bullets, and the fireworks are overwhelming.
As soon as I walked into the lobby, I was greeted by the calm and elegant style of an old hotel, without any fancy redundant design. The warm toned lighting matched with Fujian style wood carving decoration made my first impression particularly comfortable. The efficiency of checking in at the front desk is very high. I heard that this is my first time visiting the old city area of Fuzhou, and I even took the initiative to recommend a niche tour route of Xichan Temple to me. I even explained clearly which old Fuzhou Laohua store has the freshest soup base. The lake view room I live in has a wide view. Pushing open the window, you can see the continuous lotus leaves of West Lake, and the silhouette of Wushan in the distance is faintly visible in the mist. The decoration of the room balances modern comfort with the warm details of Fuzhou. The small tea table by the window is pre arranged with Zhengshan Xiaozhong, and you can sit down and enjoy a cup. The soft mattress provides a comfortable sleeping experience. I spent most of the day wandering around Sanfang and Qixiang, and at night, I relaxed after lying down for a while. The sound insulation in the room was very good, and the movement of tourists by West Lake was almost completely isolated. For two consecutive nights, I slept soundly until I woke up naturally.
What surprised me the most was the detailed configuration of the hotel. I drove here by tram, and there are plenty of charging stations in the underground parking lot. After parking, you can go upstairs without having to look for charging stations everywhere. The right to free parking also saves a lot of parking fees in the core area of Gulou. The layout of the desk sockets in the room is reasonable, and it is also convenient to handle some temporary work. The hot water comes out quickly and steadily, and after taking a shower, the whole person feels refreshed. When ordering takeout, the robot will directly deliver the food to the door of the room, without having to run downstairs by itself, which is too friendly for people who are tired of shopping. The hotel has its own lakeside tea room, where you can sit down and soak in a pot of Fuzhou jasmine tea to chat with friends after finishing supper at night, and relieve the fatigue of the whole day.
The breakfast experience was also far beyond expectations. In addition to the regular Cantonese Dim sum, you can also eat authentic Fuzhou pot paste, with oyster cake and fish balls, and directly dream back to the morning market in old Fuzhou. After staying here for three days, I completely understand why many tourists who come to Fuzhou choose this place as their first destination. It doesn't have overly exaggerated decoration, but it puts all the convenience, comfort, and unique West Lake scenery needed for travel into details, without being distracted by trivial matters, and can enjoy the slow time in Rongcheng in a down-to-earth manner. Next time I come to Gulou, I will definitely choose C&D Hotel Fuzhou as soon as possible.Show more
