I stayed at the C&D Hotel Fuzhoufor three consecutive nights to attend an industry exchange conference. Originally, I only chose to stay at the location facing West Lake, but I was deeply moved by the hotel's service hidden in the details, which completely refreshed my understanding of the service level of the old high-end hotels in Fuzhou.
As soon as I took a taxi to the hotel entrance, the doorman quickly came up and helped me pick up the heavy suitcase. They proactively informed me that a local Fuzhou jasmine tea souvenir had been prepared in advance in my room, fearing that I might not be used to the dryness of the air-conditioned room. They also brought two extra bottles of free local mountain spring water. Even when I casually mentioned that I had to catch the shuttle bus for the morning shift the next day, the front desk immediately helped me advance the wake-up service and the packaged Fuzhou specialty breakfast time by 20 minutes. After confirming twice, they handed me the room card.
When I entered the room to put things in, I found a handwritten note already placed on the desk in advance, indicating the nearest nucleic acid test points in the surrounding area, backup routes for the exchange meeting, and even the opening time of the nearby Lao Hua store that has been open for thirty years clearly written on it. This time, when I came to Gulou District in Fuzhou for business, I specifically chose to stay at C&D Hotel Fuzhou. After staying for three days, I was completely surrounded by this old hotel hidden by the West Lake, and the warm and leisurely atmosphere of Fujian and the convenience of travel were firmly integrated into my stay experience.
The location of the hotel is very familiar to people who come to Fuzhou for travel. It's less than 500 meters on foot from Ximen Station on Line 2, so you don't have to wander around in the narrow alleys of the old city with your luggage. The surrounding lakeside road network is particularly smooth. It takes only 20 minutes to walk directly to core business districts such as Sanfang Qixiang and Dongjiekou, completely avoiding the most congested sections of the morning and evening rush hour in the old city area of Fuzhou. Pushing open the side door of the hotel, I stepped into the lakeside trail of West Lake Park a few steps away. In the morning, I took a walk around the lake, blowing the wind of the Minjiang River and watching the men practicing Tai Chi and walking the blackbirds by the lake. In an instant, I could feel the slow paced smoke and fire of old Fuzhou. There is an old Fuzhou fish ball shop that has been open for decades along the street downstairs. You don't have to travel a long way, just take a turn downstairs and you can taste authentic fish balls with explosive Q bullets, and the fireworks are overwhelming.
As soon as I walked into the lobby, I was greeted by the calm and elegant style of an old hotel, without any fancy redundant design. The warm toned lighting matched with Fujian style wood carving decoration made my first impression particularly comfortable. The efficiency of checking in at the front desk is very high. I heard that this is my first time visiting the old city area of Fuzhou, and I even took the initiative to recommend a niche tour route of Xichan Temple to me. I even explained clearly which old Fuzhou Laohua store has the freshest soup base. The lake view room I live in has a wide view. Pushing open the window, you can see the continuous lotus leaves of West Lake, and the silhouette of Wushan in the distance is faintly visible in the mist. The decoration of the room balances modern comfort with the warm details of Fuzhou. The small tea table by the window is pre arranged with Zhengshan Xiaozhong, and you can sit down and enjoy a cup. The soft mattress provides a comfortable sleeping experience. I spent most of the day wandering around Sanfang and Qixiang, and at night, I relaxed after lying down for a while. The sound insulation in the room was very good, and the movement of tourists by West Lake was almost completely isolated. For two consecutive nights, I slept soundly until I woke up naturally.
What surprised me the most was the detailed configuration of the hotel. I drove here by tram, and there are plenty of charging stations in the underground parking lot.
